Stockport based Parfetts Cash & Carry says it is continuing to buck the current sluggish economic trend with its ‘Go Local’ Retailer Club & Symbol Group, according to a report from Wholesale News.

Over the past five years, Parfetts’ Go Local has seen an increase in
overall sales of 127% while last year saw the launch of the new,
          three-tiered Go Local – providing a multi-tiered fascia as a flexible,
tailor-made alternative to the “one size fits all” premise.
Parfetts told the Landmark Wholesale conference earlier this month that much of its growth was being fuelled by Go Local with total cash and carry sales to Go Local stores up 11.18% (£3.3m) for the year to date, and Go Local promotional extra sales up 59.65% (£585K) for the year to date.
The fascia delivers a promotional package that includes marketing tools, planograms and merchandising, category insight and retail development advice.
Parfetts’ managing director David Grimes said:
“It is very satisfying that during challenging times for all in the sector, Go Local is performing strongly, and in the majority of categories, is in growth.  The success of Go Local shows Parfetts is in a healthy and solid position and continues to invest heavily in the Go Local Retail Club & Symbol Group to support future growth.”
