Last weekend marked the third and final appearance at the annual Stockport Beer & Cider Festival for Walthew House.
The Shaw Heath-based charity put out a call for volunteers to help out at this year’s two-day event held at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park ground and as always, MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd (MDT-UK) was delighted to be able to offer assistance to their chosen charity.
A number of roles needing filling, from collecting beer glasses and running the Walthew House stand through to selling merchandise and collecting donations.
Meg Grantham (pictured) from MDT-UK’s offices in Hazel Grove volunteered as bar staff and spent Saturday evening pulling pints and recommending choices from the wide selection of beers on tap.
Early indications are that the event raised almost £7,000 in aid of Walthew House.
Kathryn Sheldon, Walthew House’s fundraiser, said;
“It’s thanks to all our fantastic volunteers that we manage to raise so much money. Thanks for helping us to make a difference: we hope you’re all very proud!”
