GLOWING REPORT FOR STOCKPORT’S PRIMARY SCHOOLS A new league table published by Oftsed has revealed that 84% of children in Stockport attend an outstanding or good primary school.
The league table showed that Stockport Council is nationally 13th out of 149 English local authorities, second in Greater Manchester and third in the North West.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Achievement, said: “I would like to pay tribute to the extremely strong partnership that exists between teachers, pupils, governors, parents and the Council which has contributed greatly to this success in Stockport.
“However, we are not complacent and we are always striving to provide the best possible education for all pupils in Stockport. We will fully consider the report and look at ways we can improve in the future.”
